Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, presidente do Bayern de Munique, não gostou da posição da Uefa diante da reversão de pena cedida pelo CAS (Corte Arbitral do Esporte) ao Manchester City, fato que libera o clube inglês a jogar competições continentais.

Para o dirigente, a decisão é consequência de um trabalho insatisfatório da Uefa, que não teria investigado com eficiência o caso - o CAS afirmou que as violações financeiras do City tinham "evidências conclusivas insuficientes".

"Creio que a decisão tomada pelo CAS teve esse resultado porque o da Uefa responsável pelos assuntos da Liga dos Campeões não fez um bom trabalho, ao que parece. O que ouvi de diferentes fontes é que não foi bem organizado com antecedência", disse Rummenigge em uma chamada de vídeo. A declaração foi publicada pela AP.

Rummenigge, no entanto, elogiou o Manchester City por encerrar o Campeonato Inglês na 2ª posição, desempenho que fez o clube ter direito a disputar a próxima Liga dos Campeões.

"Parabéns aos colegas do Manchester City por poderem participar no próximo ano da Liga dos Campeões", falou ele, informando que não vai mais se pronunciar sobre o tema.
